The clothes are cold after washing
Issue
- The clothes are cold when the washing programme ends
- Clothes are cold when the washing program is finished
Applies to
- Washing machines
- Washer dryers
Resolution
Washing machines rinse the clothes at the end of the washing programme with cold water, so it is normal and not a fault of the machine that the clothes are cold when the washing programme has ended.
You can check whether the machine heats up by carrying out a service wash on a Cotton programme without clothes in the machine and with the highest temperature (90-95 degrees Celsius, depending on the model).
After some time and before the rinse phase, you can feel on the door whether it becomes warm during the wash. If the door becomes warm, the machine heats up as it should and there is no malfunction.
If the door does not become warm on a Cotton programme with the highest temperature selected, we recommend booking a service visit.
Cause
- Note: Washing machines today use lower temperatures for washing. If you have just replaced an older model, the window will no longer get warm, as it did on your previous machine. Some machines also have double glazing, so that heat is minimized on the outer door glass.
- Normally the machine will be able to detect faults on the heater and will show an error message on the display (E60).
