Steam or Smoke coming from the vents on my cooker

Issue

There is steam or smoke coming from the vents at the rear of my cooker

Applies to

• Freestanding Gas Cooker
• Freestanding Electric Cooker
• Freestanding Dual Fuel Cooker

Resolution

This is not a fault with your cooker, these are steam vents for your ovens, the one on the left is for the main or bottom oven & the right vent is for the top or second oven. You may see more steam depending on what you are cooking/baking. the only way to lessen the amount of steam is to cover food with a lid or cook it in foil if possible. If you see smoke this may mean your oven needs cleaning, if this is the case please follow the instructions in the user manual for your appliance
